In-FastTM Ultra Transvaginal Sling The In-FastTM Ultra Sling is a minimally invasive treatment for female stress urinary incontinence. A concomitant repair surgery can be performed at the same time. This approach avoids an abdominal incision.
To place a sling, the In-Fast Ultra inserter is used to drive two small titanium bone screws into the posterior aspect of the pubic bone. Each screw has a suture attached that facilitates attachment to a biologic graft or synthetic mesh that is placed under the urethra, thus restoring lost pubocervical support. The graft or mesh provides support for the urethra to restore continence.
Features and Benefits
The Inserter The In-FastTM Ultra inserter is a single-use, battery-powered device that is ergonomically designed to permit precise screw positioning on the posterior aspect of the pubic bone. A long, slim shaft allows for access even in confined anatomies and provides ease of transvaginal passage. Motorized screw insertion drives screws and disengages upon full insertion. The device can be reloaded for multiple screw insertions during one procedure.
The Screws Two titanium bone swivel screws utilize a self-tapping design to allow fixation in bone medulla. The screws are pre-threaded with suture, and are available from AMS in the following materials:
- No. 1 polypropylene
- Braided TeflonTM Impregnated Polyester Suture (domestic market only), Size 0
The Sling The sling used with the In-Fast inserter can be synthetic or biologic. AMS offers InteXen, a porcine dermal matrix for use with the In-Fast Ultra System.
Benefits
The In-Fast Ultra Sling System offers many benefits to you and your patients:
- No abdominal incisions and their associated recovery
- Allows a concomitant repair to be performed
- Produces immediate continence in most cases
